Hi! I'm with :iconthe-aposhack: and I noticed this beautiful piece has no parameters with it. Submissions within the group must include parameters! So, could you please change that?

I down loaded the new apophysis, but confused since it comes up with multiple fractals to choose from, but wont allow me to save it as a normal format, like jpg, gif for animation, etc. Do you know what to do?
Is it suppose to go into another program as a plug in or what? Hope you can help me

Well i still haven't used the newest Apophysis yet.. not sure this old computer im using right now is good enough to run it.. but I'm pretty sure i can help with your problems still.

#1 the multiple fractals that come up when you start the program are known as "Random Batch" Fractals or Flames, they are randomly generated each time you start the program so they will never be the same. And really they are only there to give you a little head start on making a fractal.. like if you see a random batch design you like. You can just start working with that one.. But i usually start all mine from scratch.

#2 you can only save parameters inside the Apophysis program.. which basically means its just saving the numbers (parameters) your fractal was using... variation numbers and positions of the triangles you use to make the fractal etc.. saving parameters is good because it takes up very little space just saving a list of numbers rather than an image. So you save the numbers (parameters) and next time you start up the program and open up your parameters file all your saved parameters will be generated automatically and be ready to work with again etc...

If you want to save as a jpg. or png. file you need to actually "Render" your parameters. the icon should look like a little gear. you will have to set a destination file for your Renders to be saved to... you can find that under... Options > Paths. When you are ready to render a picture, just know that it could take some time depending on how good your computer is and the quality and size of your picture... (it could take hours sometimes to render1 picture) So some trial and error and finding some Apophysis tutorials would be a good start i think :) Theres many tutorials on deviantart.

If you have any more questions.. feel free to send me a note :)

Thanks so much for clarifying this. Thats what i thought when noticing it only saves
parameters that you create. But it just looks too difficult to use, and trying to save as a jpg etc if, but if it can take hours thats just crazy really. I will just continue to use my easy programs like gimp, photo pos pro etc that creates fractals. I just thought this program would be as easy and maybe do extras. I just dont over all like the program either. But thanks for the help

It's funny but I didn't know Michael Jackson contributed vocals on that song until now! All I remembered was some guy named Rockwell. Not sure why I thought "Maxwell", lol. The video for the song is kinda lame but fun. Not unlike 99% of all music videos.:D I still can't believe I remember that song after all these years.
